Cross Lingual Art Spaces on Wikipedia

This project seeks to interrogate the claim of the world wide web’s global representativeness through the prism of Wikipedia.

The Internet promises to transcend cultural and national boundaries. Does such promise realized on the world's biggest user-generated content (also encyclopedia) website? By choosing to examine the topic of art, a universal abstract concept with multiple local, cultural and linguistic articulations, we explores how it is represented across different language versions of Wikipedia, using digital methods to analyze their visual and hyper-textual elements.
